It is unclear whether Hokusai(1760-1849) and Issa(1763-1828) ever crossed paths. However, they both lived in Edo (present-day Tokyo) during roughly the same period. The following image is part of Hokusai’s woodblock print design, The Great Encyclopedia of All Things, held in the collection of the British Museum.
