縦書き文庫｢ふりがな小林一茶発句集｣春9に次の句がある、｢享和句帖｣享和３(1803)年、41歳の作だ(まだ一茶と名乗っていない)。当時、詩経･易経の俳訳に専心していた(岩波文庫｢一茶父の終焉日記ほか｣1992年譜参照)。

松間まつあひにひとり(一人)すま(澄)して梅うめの花はな (春3546)

松の樹々のあいだに梅の樹が一本立ち花を咲かせている光景が思い浮かぶ。1926年発行の享和句帖(古今書院)を見ると、信毎版一茶全集にはない｢隰有萇楚｣という前書きがある。詩経の次の一節から取ったのであろう。

この前書きがあると句の情景が一変し、下五の｢梅の花｣が瑞々しい女性の影を帯びるように思う。萇楚はキウイフルーツ科の植物らしい(英語名: carambola tree, star fruit)。

詩経: 隰有萇楚
隰有萇楚 猗儺其枝, 夭之沃沃 樂子之無知 隰有萇楚 猗儺其華, 夭之沃沃 樂子之無家 隰有萇楚 猗儺其實, 夭之沃沃 樂子之無室
In the low wet grouds is the carambola tree; Soft and pliant are its branches, With the glossiness of tender beauty. I should rejoice to be like you, [O tree], without consciousness.
